Historical Thailand at a Glance
This Historical and Cultural Takuapa Tour explores the old town of Takuapa, formerly known as ‘Takola’. Located approximately 32km north of Khao Lak, Takuapa Old Town dates back to the 13th Century and still holds onto it’s fascinating charm of ancient Thai culture.

The beautiful Sino-Portuguese architecture and wealth of the community owe their origins to the tin-mining industry, an important era in the town’s, and in fact the county’s, history. This Takuapa tour is the best opportunity to explore “real” Thailand, not far from Khao Lak.
Explore the Old Town on this Takuapa Tour
If you’re interested in exploring the culture in Thailand and need a break from nature and the beach then this is the tour for you. We will guide you from the past through to the present as we step back in time and wander through Chinese shrines and Thai Temples.

On this Takuapa tour we will discover the old-town streets lined with beautiful examples of Sino-Portuguese architecture. We will visit Takuapa Market before heading to Nam Kem Cultural Centre, a museum run by locals and interestingly made out of clay. Finally we visit the Tsunami Memorial Park; a tranquil and peaceful place for reflection and remembrance.
